Winter weather did not keep the audience away from the Beethoven in December – with Holiday Treats concert, which included Victor Herbert’s Babes in Toyland, an operetta which weaves together various characters from Mother Goose; Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, the idea of which was formed during a heatwave; and lastly, excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.
